Hawker Hunter and a note on Storage

The Rhodesian Air Force used the Hawker Hunter during the Rhodesian Bush War or Second Chimurenga if you prefer. They had 12 of these in service, and were armed with 4 30mm cannons. This is a QRF model, and I have to say I was impressed by this one. My only other exposure to their resin/metal models was the Puma which had a ridiculous number of resin bubbles and was an utter disaster. This had a few bubbles that were easily filled in. The metal wings also needed a very small amount of putty before sanding. The QRF model comes without drop tanks and I've never seen a picture of a RAF Hunter without them. So I dug around for awhile and came up with two napalm tanks off a Monogram 1/72 AI-E Skyraider. They're not an exact match, but I think they add something to the model. I had to modify my usual magnetic flying stand for this model since it was so small. I bought a pack of 20 neodium rare earth magnets, 1/4" x 1/4" cylinder in size. And then I drilled a hole in the resin body and glued the magnet in place. It worked out great. Now I have 19 more of them I need to find a use for...

I promised a look at my storage system, and here it is. I glue craft store magnets to the bottom of I trays (this one is 3" deep). The magnets are strong enough that the models do not even twist within the tray and the tray can be turned on it's side without the models falling out.
