Postcards From The Heart
Happy Weekend Everyone.. I thought I'd bring you some vintage inspired flowers in the form of postcards. I started these 'postcards' over a month ago but for some reason I have never quite finished them... Some of you noticed one in my last post... so I thought I'd put a few together for you.. They were inspired by the water colour paintings my mum had in her childhood autograph book. Or perhaps from memories of the childhood posies we gathered for our mothers.. Happy little bundles plucked from a neighbour's garden and wilted from their travels in a child's clumsy grasp. Little bundles of love that sit by the kitchen window, smudgy floaty and bruised by the late afternoon sun.

Wild flowers
Inspired by afternoon walks by the sea...
Wild purple flowers that rise up defiantly from their sandy bed ...

Q. V. Markets
A bit of history: The 'Postcard' layer comes from the back of an old family photo... It contains the text Q.V Markets Sydney. I need to do a bit more research on this but suspect it was the Queen Victoria Markets held on the site where the magnificent Queen Victoria Building now stands... Perhaps that is a post for the future ...
Have a lovely weekend everyone..
And once again thank you for your kind comments and visits.
I'll leave you with the words of John Lennon
All You Need Is Love
And a working internet
